On the hill for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tonight was 2005 Cy Young winner Bartolo Colon. Colon appeared in only 10 games last season, and was ready to start off the 2007 with a bang. He did just that. Colon went 7 IP allowing only 1 ER with 7 H and 2 K's. Angel fans needed the addition of Colon as he prompted them into their second straight win, pulling their record up to a reasonable 8-9.
Also today, Philadelphia left-handed Cole Hamels struck out a whopping 15 men in a CG 5-hitter. Hamels lowered his ERA to under 2.6, a mark where only a handful of pitchers are even close too.
