Jason Schmidt out for Season?

Newly acquired Dodger starting pitcher Jason Schmidt, who is currently on the DL with shoulder problems, looks to have shoulder surgery soon. This would mean the 3 year $47M pitcher, who was known for being a workhorse in San Francisco, would miss the entire season, a big blow to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

I think in the offseason that the all of the MLB teams need to re-think the crazy high-dollar, multi-year deals for SP's, especially those who are older. In the event of an injury, they can really cripple an organization.
