Oakland Athletics closer Huston Street had a conversation with GM Billy Beane last night, in which Street told Beane that he would like to sign a multi-year deal this season. He's set to hit arbitration for the first time in his career this year, and he has made it clear that he would sign for reasonably less if the years on the deal were heavily extended.
Joe Blanton is also set to hit arbitration, but has not been approached with the idea of signing a multi-year deal before his years in Oakland are done. Can't forget the Joe Blanton to LAD deal that almost happened in this year's deadline, and i'm sure Joe soon won't.
