Contreras to Mets?

After all the Buehrle to Mets rumors, the Newark Star-Ledge reports that they will most likely attempt to acquire Jose Contreras instead of Mark Buehrle. Jose has been struggling this season with a mid-5 E.R.A., but still has an excellent 55/35 K/BB. If Contreras did go to the Metropolitans, it would be intriguing to see how he will pitch in the great-hitters park known as Shea Stadium.

I think the Mets will definetely acquire one of these pitchers. Even with Martinez' return, his effectiveness is not gauranteed, so this pitcher will compensate. Also, one of these guys will be useful in the run for the playoffs, and to fight off the rising Phillies.
