Detroit Extends Leyland
Despite not picking up a playoff spot in this year's postseason, the Detroit Tigers showed their love for skipper Jim Leyland today, extending his contract throughout the '09 season. Jim has a 183-141 record, managing the club for both this season and last season. Can't forget the horrible season the '05 Tigers created. Will be interesting to see if the Tigers can continue their success even with a 20-year old leftfielder at the helm.
