Cardinals Acquire Branyan
It's been a well-traveled year for third-basemen Russell Branyan, and it got worse Friday as the Philadelphia Phillies sent 34-year old Branyan to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for a player to-be named later.
Russell hit .222 in 7 games for the Phils, hitting 2 HR's and 5 RBI. The move came directly after third-basemen Scott Rolen went to the DL, giving the Cards no third basemen on the roster.
