Many eyebrows were raised when the struggling Pirates traded young outfielder Rajai Davis to San Francisco in return for a $11M pitcher who is on the downfall. Now, we all have reasoning to haggle the Pirates for making this deal, as Morris has been absolutely horrid.
Matt has started 9 games for Pittsburgh, going 2-3 with a 6.18 ERA. His K/BB ratio is an even 22/22 and his WHIP is off the charts at 1.68. As for Davis, he's been playing a cool centerfield for the San Francisco Padres and becoming a Web-Gem regular.
Hopefully for the Pirates, Morris will get his act together next season with a fresh start, but as for now Pittsburgh looks absolutely idiotic.
