Pads Sign Tomko

The San Diego Padres have signed 34-year old rightie Brett Tomko. Tomko was a pathetic 2-11 this year for the Dodgers, showing an also-pathetic 5.80 ERA. Brett told the media that he would be fine coming out of the pen, and would do either or just to help the club get into the postseason.

The signing makes it look like the real deal here was actually David Wells for Brett Tomko. If that was the case, the Dodgers surely won getting the veteran Wells for the stretch run.
