Morneau Afraid of Future

Minnesota Twins star first-baseman Justin Morneau is dissapointed with the Twins on and off the field. On the field, the Twins are a mere 72-77 coming off a playoff berth in '06. Shortly after Minnesota was defeated in the playoffs, Justin was quick to contact the Twins about a contract extension. He loved the city and the team and was willing to sign for cheap to keep the core together. Now, it looks like he believes likewise.

"But who knows? If we don't sign Torii [Hunter] back, and it doesn't look like Johan [Santana] is coming back -- obviously, I want to be here, but it's a question of how much is in the budget." (Star Tribune). It looks clear that Torii wont be coming back, and Morneau has made it clear that if Johan is leaving so is the 26-year old.
