Chi-Sox Ink A.J.
The Chicago White Sox have extended catcher A.J. Pierzynski to a 2-year extension through the '09 and '10 seasons. The deal is set to pay A.J. $12.5MM throughout those two years, a $6.25M amount per year for an aging catcher on the downside. You can't expect too much out of a catcher offensively, however, so I guess the deal makes some sense for Kenny Williams' crew.
