Arizona Inks Byrnes, Quentin Now On Block

The Arizona Diamondbacks have re-signed outfielder Eric Byrnes to a 3-year deal worth $30M. This came after it looked like there was a 100% chance Byrnes would reach free-agency. I guess the D-Backs like his veteran leadership? Wierd decision especially with Justin Upton now waiting in the wings, but you can't falter the team as Eric was crushing the ball this entire year. Byrnes is hitting at a .303 clip with 17 HR 64 RBI and 28 SB's.

This move looks to push powerful right-fielder Carlos Quentin out of Chase Field. Quentin showed tons of power last year when he was called up, but has did nothing this year. Carlos was hitting .208 with only 5 HR and 28 RBI's before being placed on the 15-day DL in late July.
