Pedro Shows Improvement

Pedro Martinez made his second rehab start this afternoon going 4 innings allowing 4 hits and 3 earned-runs. He struck out 4 batters and walked 1, throwing 47 of his 60 pitches for strikes. After the game, Pedro said he feels much closer to coming back for the New York Mets. He also said that the earliest he will be able to come back is September 1st.

If Pedro comes back and does a decent job for New York, it could solidify their playoff push and back the Atlanta Braves off of them a bit.
