White-Sox Extend Dye

The Chicago White Sox re-signed right-fielder Jermaine Dye to a 2-year contract worth $22M. The deal also includes a mutual option for the 3rd year at $12M with a $1M buyout. They better believe this is a down season because $11M is quite a bit for an under-performing outfielder. He is currently hitting .245 with 24 HR's and 62 RBI's and had the best year of his career last year.

Now Chicago has resigned both Buehrle and Dye, meaning their team is in place at least for the next 2 years, even though they are struggling terribly this year and will not make the playoffs.
