Wickman Designated
The Braves are no longer trusting veteran Bob Wickman with closing their games. Wickman completed 20 of 26 save opportunities and only allowed a 3.92 ERA in 43.2 IP. He also told the Braves that he despised pitching in non-save situations for the team and needs to be the closer. Looks like the 38-year old will retire instead of going to another team but there is always an opportunity.
Atlanta will now rely on Rafael Soriano to close out games until ex-Royals closer Octavio Dotel returns from the DL.
